At Pride in the Dales, our mission has always been simple: to bring visibility, joy and community to LGBTQ+ people living in rural North Yorkshire. Over the past two years, we’ve been proud to see this mission reflected in regional and national media coverage – helping us show the world that queer life thrives far beyond big cities.
From features in 2023 highlighting our inaugural Pride event to 2024 coverage of our family-friendly activities, workshops and local partnerships, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Journalists, filmmakers and online creators have consistently shown interest in what makes Pride in the Dales unique: our grassroots origins, our all-volunteer team and our unwavering commitment to making rural queer spaces joyful and accessible.
This growing visibility doesn’t just help our community – it also strengthens the case for future sponsors and partners. When organisations support Pride in the Dales, they’re supporting a movement that’s being talked about, celebrated and amplified across Yorkshire and beyond. Media coverage demonstrates the impact of every pound invested: more events, more visibility, more support for LGBTQ+ people who live in places where queer resources can be limited or completely absent.
As we move forward, we’ll continue sharing our media features and stories on our website. We encourage local businesses, organisations and potential sponsors to explore them – and to join us in making Pride in the Dales bigger, brighter
and more sustainable for the years ahead.
